To qualify under the Certified Bonsmara Beef Program, the beef marked as “Certified Bonsmara Beef” must derive from Bonsmara cattle certified by the American Bonsmara Association, and the person or entity applying the mark must be granted permission by the American Bonsmara Association.
For cattle to qualify as Bonsmara, the American Bonsmara Association must approve the producer to obtain and produce Bonsmara cattle. The approved producers shall designate Bonsmara cattle by affidavit, which the American Bonsmara Association shall verify. Bonsmara cattle need to be no less than half-blood Bonsmara to qualify for the Certified Bonsmara Beef Program.
